We are very pleased to announce MEL CHIN's first major publication, entitled 'Do Not Ask Me'. The book expands upon the 2006 exhibition 'Do Not Ask Me.' That exhibition featured a critical selection of key works created after The Menil Collection's 'Mel Chin', a 1991 exhibition. The works present a complex, original aesthetic and an extraordinary range of issues that intersect human experience, including intellectual and scientific investigation, dreams, wars, and political and social concerns.
Featuring essays by Marcia Brennan, Associate Professor of Art History at Rice University, Dr. Paul Farmer, University Professor of Harvard University and a founder of Partners in Health, James Harithas, Director of the Station Museum, James Metcalf, artist and educator who worked alongside Duchamp, Brancusi, and Robert Graves, Santa Clara del Cobre, Michoacán, and a conversation between Mel Chin and Eugenie Tsai, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum.
